Humans love their jeans. Some so much that they collect ’em. For most of us, though, they are functional clothing items and we usually have a few favorites that have been with us through years, even decades, of life. Some people take great care of their jeans. Others wear them so many times between washings they practically walk on their own! Jeans are great. They can be dressed up, dressed down, bleached, torn, written on, patched, pre-dirtied, and . . . they’re a great canvas for hand embellishments.
I’d gotten bored with a pair of jeans and they were on their way to the consignment shop pile. I’d also been wanting to hand embellish something, having recently been exposed to hand sewing and embroidery and getting all pumped up about the possibilities.
